What is a Voice Profile/Greeting

A voice profile/greeting is simply a message from you describing yourself that you record using a telephone. Other members can hear your voice profile/greeting by dialling 0871 223 2003 and entering your membership ID (Hidden). It's the easiest way to ensure other members get to know the real you.

How do I listen to another members voice profile/greeting?

Any member can listen to a voice profile/greeting, providing that member has recorded one?

  1. Dial 0871-872-8822
  2. Enter the six digit ID of the member whose voice profile/greeting you wish to hear. 
  3. Their voice profile/greeting will now be played to you.
  4. If the member hasn't recorded a voice profile/greeting, the VA (Virtual Assistant) will tell you . If this is the case click on their "Request Voice Profile" button (shown below) at the bottom of their profile or in search results. This will send a site message indicating your interest in them. It requests they record a voice profile so you can listen to it and perhaps leave a voice message afterwards.

      

  5. When the VA finishes playing their voice profile/greeting, you get the option to replay the voice profile/greeting, leave a message (see below) or simply end the call .

How do I leave a voice message?

  1. To leave a member a message, follow the steps for listening to their voice profile/greeting above.
  2. At any time while the VA (Virtual Assistant) is playing a members voice profile/greeting, you may press 2. This will then allow you to record a message .
  3. Record your message after the tone, pressing any key to end it.
  4. You'll now get the option to send the message, re-play it, re-record it or end the call .
Please DO NOT record voice messages which containing anything that is defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane, offensive, sexually oriented, threatening, harassing, racially offensive or illegal, or any material that infringes or violates another's rights. Your membership will be terminated without warning if you do!

Why can't I leave a voice message for someone when I tried?

You can't leave a message for a member who hasn't recorded a voice profile/greeting. This ensures you don't leave a message for a member who currently isn't using the telephone services and may never hear it.

How do I record my own Voice Profile/Greeting?

As of January 2007, this feature is now available to all member levels.

  1. Dial 0871-872-8822 and enter your VA (Virtual Assistant) by pressing the # key.
  2. Enter your own membership ID (Hidden). It can also be found in your side menu under "My Membership" when you are logged in.
  3. Enter your unique six digit VA PIN Code (Hidden). It can also be found in your side menu under "My Membership" when you are logged in.
  4. You should now have access to your VA .
  5. Press 3 to review your voice profile .
  6. First time users won't have recorded a voice profile/greeting, therefore the VA will confirm this . The VA then provides a list of options . Press 2 to record a new profile and follow further instructions.
  7. Once you've recorded your voice profile/greeting, don't forget to alert other members. See instructions below.
We encourage you to use this feature to express your personality and give other members some insight into the real you. We want you to feel free to be creative; however, we do ask that you follow these guidelines.

How do I set my Voice Profile/Greeting alert to show other members I've recorded one?

Setting your voice profile/greeting alert will display a button in search results when a member finds you. To set it, select YES against "Have you recorded your voice profile/greeting?". Visit your My Voice page.

What is a VA (Virtual Assistant) PIN Code?

Your VA PIN Code is very similar to a PIN code you'd use to access your bank account at a cash point machine. Your 6 digit PIN code (Hidden), together with your membership ID (Hidden), allows secure access to your stored data, when using our phone services.

Where can I find my VA (Virtual Assistant) PIN Code?

Your PIN Code is located in your side menu under "My Membership" and on your My Voice page. These pages are only visible if you're logged in. For ease it's also shown below and in other various places on this page if you're logged in.

What is a Talksafer™ Personal Number?

This award winning facility is our trademark. Unique in the dating industry. Bringing greater dating protection, privacy and peace of mind, especially for women. A Personal No. puts you in control. You get an untraceable "070" telephone number that diverts calls to your mobile, home or office number, anywhere in the UK, without charge. You can change your destination number as often as you like. See Fig 1.

How do I get my own Personal Number?

Visit our upgrade page and select to upgrade to Essential membership, if you're not already an Essential member. Select a Personal number as an optional extra.

How do I request another member's Personal Number?

Check if they have a Personal Number first? They'll have a button, like the one below, at the bottom of their profile. Any member can request another member's Personal Number by clicking this button.



Once you've clicked it you'll be asked to confirm you wish to proceed. Our website will automatically send that member a message requesting their Personal Number. If they accept your request, you'll receive their number in a reply message.

How do I call a member's Personal Number?

See the diagram Fig.1 for an explanation on the basic principle. There's more specific instructions below.

  1. Dial the members Personal Number.
  2. When the call is answered you will be asked to record your first name after the tone. Press any key to finish .
  3. If your call is not answered you'll be able to leave a message.
  4. Your first name will be replayed to the member, who can then decide to accept your call or send you to their voice profile message box for you to leave a message.
  5. Please wait to be connected....... there may be a short delay, so please be patient!

How do I set up my Personal Number?

You'll need all 3 of the numbers shown below :-

Your Membership ID = (Hidden)
Your Pin Code = (Hidden)

Your Personal No. = (Hidden)

  1. Dial 0871-872-8822 and enter your VA (Virtual Assistant) by pressing the # key.
  2. Enter your own membership ID (Hidden). It can also be found in your side menu under "Your Membership" when you are logged in.
  3. Enter your unique six digit VA PIN Code (Hidden). It can also be found in your side menu under "Your Membership" when you're logged in.
  4. You should now have access to your VA .
  5. Press 1 to set-up or change your divert number .
  6. Enter your Personal No. (Hidden). It can be also be found in your side menu, or in the email we sent you when you purchased your Personal No. .
  7. Enter your divert number followed by the # key. Your divert number is the number your Personal Number will divert to when its called. It can be a landline number or your mobile number starting with 01, 02 or 07 .
  8. Follow the instructions to save it or re-enter it and return to your VA.

If I get a call on my Personal Number. What happens? How do I accept it?

  1. The caller is asked to record their first name. If they record nothing they're automatically sent to your Talksafer™ voice profile message box. Once they've recorded their first name they'll then be diverted to your chosen number (without knowing your number). On answering the call you will hear the recording of the callers first name. .
  2. Choose what you'd like to do with the caller, press either the *(star) key to accept the call or the # key to send them to your .
  3. If you choose to speak to your caller, please wait to be connected.

If my Essential membership expires, will I lose my Personal Number?

No! Your Personal Number is yours for life. You may still carry on giving to people and accepting call to it. However, on downgrade your PIN code is changed and hidden. Therefore to collect your voicebox messages or change your divert number you'll need to upgrade to Essential membership once again.

What are SMS text alerts?

SMS text alerts are SMS messages sent to your mobile phone informing you when there is activity with your profile. There are 5 SMS Text Alerts to choose from. You can also select particular times, day or night, that you wish to receive your SMS. Click here to take a look at our SMS settings page and the SMS Alerts currently available.

What is a Direct SMS message?

A Direct SMS message is a text message sent directly to your chosen mobile, originating from another member using the Direct SMS service on our website. Don't worry, they DO NOT know your mobile phone number. Our system forwards the message to you by using your unique membership ID (Hidden).

What'll appear on my mobile when I receive a Direct SMS Message or SMS Alert?

Currently the number "21870000" will appear on your mobile. We're in the process of changing this to be something more identifiable, such as "TSD SMS", so please don't delete your messages or alerts by mistake. Our Direct SMS Messages starts with "From : [Senders Membership ID], whilst an SMS Alert message starts with "TSD SMS Alert".

How do I send a Direct SMS Message to another member?

Firstly, this feature is only available to Essential members

To send a Direct SMS message to another member, simply click on the following symbol, which you'll find at the bottom of the members profile

Will my mobile phone number be given out to anyone?

Your mobile number is kept private and confidential and is never given to third parties. That's a promise.

I seem to have been sent a duplicate SMS Alert?

You'll receive an alert each time there is activity on your profile and the activity is of a nature which you've requested you be alerted to. E.g. If a member sends you 2 messages then you will receive 2 alerts looking the same. Most of our SMS Alerts contained information such as time and dates of activity, so they're unlikely to be the same.

I don't seem to be receiving any Direct SMS or SMS Alerts?

If you're not receiving any SMS, please check the following :-

  1. Your SMS Settings by clicking here. Look at the SMS setting options you've selected. Check the times you've selected and the ones you wish to receive. SMS messages can sometimes be delayed depending on how busy the network is.
  2. Check how many SMS you have left. Look at the answer to the next question or look in your side menu under "Your Profile" if you're logged in.
  3. Unfortunately it could also mean there has been no activity with your profile. Time to make some first moves, perhaps!

How do I know how many SMS text messages I have left?

Easy, have a look in the side menu under "Your Membership", or click here and it should say at the top of the page or check below :-

How can I buy more SMS text messages?

SMS texts are available to buy in bundles and can only be purchased online with your credit or debit card. You'll need to register your mobile number before you can buy SMS. Click here to buy SMS texts now! We give 3 FREE when you first register so that you can try the service first. These can be used for either Direct SMS or receiving SMS Alerts.

I have changed my mobile phone number, what do I do?

You can change your mobile number at anytime by logging in, clicking "Your Profile" on the side menu, then clicking Edit My SMS Settings.

How can I stop receiving Direct SMS Messages and/or SMS Alerts?

You can stop receiving Direct SMS Messages and/or SMS Alerts by logging in, clicking "Your Profile" on the side menu, then clicking Edit My SMS Settings and unticking all the boxes. We DO NOT have a system for actually removing your number from our database.
